It has been four years The Band’ last studio CD, “Music from Big Pink” which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. After debuting at No. 1 last week, The Band’s album Music from Big Pink falls to No. 2 with 657,000, a sales slide of 64%. There is so much to love about The Band, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This is what good Country should be.
I like to sing along with To Kingdom Come, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. In A Station is perfect. I came to like Caledonia Mission. Blew our minds when we first heard The Weight. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Long Black Veil - For me, this is the best of the album. Chest Fever presents the cool mix of instruments on Music from Big Pink. Lonesome Suzie is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. This Wheel’s On Fire is a bit different from The Band stereotypical stuff. The Band allows each song to breathe and flourish.
