This album has some very good songs like This Wheel’s On Fire and Old Blue. Dr.Byrds and Mr.Hyde carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Since completing 1969’s ‘This Wheel’s On Fire’, The Byrds fulfilled their contract with SixSteps records and where under no obligation to release another album. Check it every song is worth the money for the Dr.Byrds and Mr.Hyde CD!
This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Your Gentle Ways Of Loving Me is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Nashville West is pretty funky and mellow. Drug Store Truck Drivin’ Man has a fun tempo. After about the third King Apathy III listen through, I began to believe this song is The Byrds’s essence. The song Candy ending is my favorite… so catchy! Music and lyrics of Bad Night At The Whiskey creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Simple and heartfelt closing track Medley My Back Pages B.j. Blues Baby What You Want Me closes Dr.Byrds and Mr.Hyde on a high note. Blew our minds when we first heard Stanley’s Song. The Byrds emotions are reflected through Lay Lady Lay (alternate Version). This Wheel’s On Fire (version One) catches attention immediately, Although Medley My Back Pages B.j. Blues Baby What You Want Me is very melodic it is far from sad. Nashville West (alternate Version - Nashville Recording) is worth the money.
