It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of The Byrds energies, virtually a rebirth. This disc has all of the essential The Byrds classics. After debuting at No. 1 last week, The Byrds’s album Willin’ (Live in Goteborg) falls to No. 2 with 309,000, a sales slide of 82%. This album is awesome.
My Back Pages is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Mr. Tambourine Man is the funkiest number on the album. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Roll Over Beethoven - This one makes me want to not only sing along. The Byrds has astounded me with this amazing track. Willin’ is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Black Mountain Rag gives good insight into the truths. The opening track Positively 4th Street is very much like you would expect from other albums.
