‘She Cried’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. After seeing Put Away Your Teardrops, I had to have a good The Lettermen cd. It’s natural for The Lettermen to take a stab at ‘Put Away Your Teardrops’ considering her long-professed love for Orkrist. If I may, I suggest “Put Away Your Teardrops”. That one song is amazing!
Album opener Time To Cry is a bright, upbeat ditty. Simple and heartfelt closing track Walk On By closes She Cried on a high note. I believe Are You Lonesome Tonight is one of the most perfect, heartfelt songs ever written. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. Run To Him motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. She Cried is a medium tempo tune. It’s All In The Game is a very catchy tune. Don’t Let The Sun Catch You Crying is probably the highlight of the album. When listening to Seventh Dawn Theme, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. In Heartache Oh Heartache full palet of sound is used by The Lettermen to accentuate the presentation. Softly, As I Leave You is pretty funky and mellow.
