There is no doubt that The Modern Jazz Quartet has talent. While no new The Modern Jazz Quartet album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1974 tour in North America. It has been eleven years The Modern Jazz Quartet’ last studio CD, “A Night At The Opera” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Check it every song is worth the money for the A Night At The Opera CD!
Album opener Blues In B is a bright, upbeat ditty. Blues In A Minor - I like this one. Blues In C Minor - I just love it. Alexander’s Fugue - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of The Modern Jazz Quartet. Minor Love - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Legendary Profile is another favourite of mine.
