I am not a real funk music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Gold’ really is amazing. This is one of the best Cd’s The Ohio Players has dropped to date. It’s natural for The Ohio Players to take a stab at ‘Feel the Beat (Everybody Disco)’ considering her long-professed love for Babylon Zoo. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about The Ohio Players ever.
Still going through Gold and coming to appreciate Love Rollercoaster more and more with every listen. I Want to Be Free is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Fopp - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Far East Mississippi one is one of the better boring ones. Skin Tight is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Some of the arrangements found on Gold are surprisingly edgy. Sweet Sticky Thing - A strong beat. Jive Turkey is the album’s biggest hit, I think. I’ve found myself listening to Only a Child Can Love back to back and back many times. Who’d She Coo? is one of the best records ever.
