Rock and Roll Forever carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. It’s natural for The Ventures to take a stab at ‘Honky Tonk (Parts 1 and 2)’ considering her long-professed love for Led Zeppelin. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of The Ventures on ‘Honky Tonk (Parts 1 and 2)’. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
This song may be the most meaningful. Smokie is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. When I listen to Rumble in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. I can’t stop humming along You Can’t Sit Down. Voice of The Ventures in Ram-Bunk-Shush is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Such hits like Guitar Boogie Shuffle will leave you hooked. Raunchy is the albums biggest surprise. Overall a nice softer song. Sleep Walk is one of the coolest songs The Ventures has ever recorded.
