I have all of Thelonious Monk’s tracks and Caravan is probably the most his introspective effort. Some call I Don’t Mean A Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing) from Plays Duke Ellington as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. I Got It Bad and That’s Ain’t Good is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. I Let A Song Go Out Of My Heart - A strong beat. Mood Indigo is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Lyrics of Solitude are precise and evocative. Sophisticated Lady is the funkiest number on the album.
