On The Planets album, Tomita have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This is the first studio album from Tomita since bad diagnosis in 1976. Venus - The Bringer Of Peace have really caught my ear and imagination. Mercury - The Winged Messenger is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Jupiter - The Bringer Of Jollity is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Saturn - The Bringer Of Old Age - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Tomita is hitting on all cylinders in Uranus - The Magician. Neptune - The Mistic one is one of the better boring ones.
