This thirteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Tri Yann has. Ivan Grach has compared writing for Tri Yann’s new album to that on ‘An Naoned’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Tri Yann had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Check it every song is worth the money for the An Naoned CD!
La Vierge A La Fontaine - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Pastourelle De Saint-Julien-Maraichine is perfect work of Tri Yann. I like Tri Martelod because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Before Ireland Can Go Freeye Jacobites is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Les Filles D’tscoublac is a fine track on any terms. Music and lyrics of Johny Monfarleaumadame Bolduc creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. La Calibourdaine De Breca is almost impossible to review. Les Prisons De Nantes is a very catchy tune. I came to like An Alarc’h. In Le Dauphin it becomes nowhere more obvious that Tri Yann has yet to define own style. Au Pied D’un Rosier - Well, here we get a bit more meaning.
