Since Tri Yann last CD (Suite Gallaise) on Blue Note Records back in 1974, I have felt a massive void in my life. This album has some very good songs like Lundi Mardi Danse and Cad e sin don te sin. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Tri Yann energies, virtually a rebirth. Suite Gallaise touched my soul like nothing else.
Cad e sin don te sin is possibly the best song Tri Yann has come up. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Ton Simple because the melody in the chorus is so good. Voice of Tri Yann in Pelot D’Hennebont is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Complainte de la blanche biche is Tri Yann’s best work in years. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Opening track Le Courturier de Ruffigne shows the best of Tri Yann. Maluron Lurette is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Chanson Des Comms - a classic song.
