Vangelis and Irene Papas’s debut, ‘Odes’, does not fit easily into one genre. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Vangelis and Irene Papas’s album Odes falls to No. 2 with 531,000, a sales slide of 76%. Odes is an amazing album, racked with beauty. This is what good Electronic should be.
In Neranzoula (Le petit orange) Vangelis and Irene Papas is at his best. Within the first few notes of La Danse Du Feu it’s perfectly clear that Vangelis and Irene Papas is living this song. Les Kolokotronei had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Le Fleuve is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Menousis, which shows, blatantly, how much Vangelis and Irene Papas has evolved as a singer.
