Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Wes Montgomery on ‘Four On Six’. There is so much to love about Wes Montgomery, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This is the first studio album from Wes Montgomery since bad diagnosis in 1965. Willow Weep For Me is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
Impressions - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Misty which is my favorite is a truly Wes Montgomery sounding song. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. When listening to Portrait Of Jennie, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Surrey with A Fringe on Top is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Willow Weep For Me. Willow Weep For Me - I just love it.
