It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Yellow Magic Orchestra energies, virtually a rebirth. Yellow Magic Orchestra’s debut, ‘Yellow Magic Orchestra USA’, does not fit easily into one genre. Yellow Magic Orchestra USA isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. This album is a scorcher!
One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Firecracker. Simoon is gorgeous and different song. One listen to the sheer beauty of Cosmic Surfin; was all I needed. This track is clearly meant to showcase Yellow Magic Orchestra’s vocal abilities. Yellow Magic (Tong Poo) is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. I can’t stop playing La Femme Chinoise. Bridge Over Troubled Music is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Mad Pierrot is really a nice song to relax and listen too.
