Self-described as Chanson with lots of words, Yves Montand comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Yves Montand had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. When you buy a Yves Montand album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Enjoy the show.
L’addition is the more seemingly obscure song on Montand D’hier Et D’aujourd’hui that bear up best to repeated listening. Le Temps gives good insight into the truths. Hollywood had me crying as I was able to relate so well. The opening track Les Bijoux is very much like you would expect from other albums. Casse-Tetes is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Montand D’hier Et D’aujourd’hui. Ellington Quarante Et One - I like this one. This track is a great song that still never gets old. Dansons La Rose to me is the best you can get from Yves Montand. Rencontres is a bit of a show-tune. Extrait De ‘Intermede’ is one of these floating songs. L’enfant Ebloui (2:55) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Simple and heartfelt closing track Les Berceaux closes Montand D’hier Et D’aujourd’hui on a high note. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit.
