one years ago, ZECCHINO D ORO briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Cik e Ciak”. On 14 Zecchino D’ Oro album, ZECCHINO D ORO have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. After seeing Ali baba, I had to have a good ZECCHINO D ORO cd. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like 14 Zecchino D’ Oro.
Cik e Ciak - A catchy, upbeat tune. Gli stivali ballerini stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of ZECCHINO D ORO. ZECCHINO D ORO sings Il sottomarino raffreddato in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. I find myself hearing bits of La Banda del Formaggio here and there throughout my waking hours. La gallina coccou is a song to enjoy for years to come. La mini astronave is a very catchy tune. I believe La torre degli asinelli is one of the most exquisite, heartfelt songs ever written. Sette cani brontoloni one of the best in my collection. Don’t judge Tre scozzesi on the first listening. Cin cin pon pon makes a person feel amazing.
