This disc has all of the essential ZECCHINO D ORO classics. Since ZECCHINO D ORO last CD (26 Zecchino D’ Oro) on Mute Records back in 1983, I have felt a massive void in my life. It’s natural for ZECCHINO D ORO to take a stab at ‘Arirang (Corea)’ considering her long-professed love for EMF. This is my first ZECCHINO D ORO Album and i must say i am blown away.
In Attacca al chiodo quel fucile the music gets its power. ZECCHINO D ORO must have run out of lyrics on the next track Caterina Caterina. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of ZECCHINO D ORO. Evviva la domenica defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on 26 Zecchino D’ Oro. Il valzer della polenta is one of the best records ever. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Sole pioggia - This is a very lively song. ZECCHINO D ORO is hitting on all cylinders in Tango mago tango. Music in Tinghelinghelin is cool as in all tracks of 26 Zecchino D’ Oro.
