Since Zed last CD (Visions Of Dune) on Mute Records back in 1979, I have felt a massive void in my life. It has been sixteen years Zed’ last studio CD, “Visions Of Dune” which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. This disc has all of the essential Zed classics. Exciting stuff.
All of songs on Visions Of Dune and have something to say letting alone Ibad. Gom Jabbar is worth the money. Adab is simple, dignified and effective, Zed refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Harkonnen is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Fremen - a classic song. Shai Hulud - Okay, I just talked about depth. Bene Gesserit is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Some of the arrangements found on Visions Of Dune are surprisingly edgy. Thufir Hawat is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Voice and instruments in Bashar complement each other. Dune is pretty funky and mellow.
